"When we teach and practice from a functional perspective we focus on the purpose of the pose and the sensations in the body produced by the breath, the posture, or the flowing movement rather than the external form"       -Gaby Maass, Senior Yoga Teacher & Trainer.

"Our classes are guided sessions that are based in teachings that accelerate your experiential learning process, so you will quickly understand how to access a fuller dimension of the  physical, emotional and mental benefits of yoga and movement" -Gaby Maass, Senior Yoga Teacher & Teacher Trainer.

"Yoga "poses" are not a form or commodity, to achieve or attain; yoga postures are asanas that have a powerful healing & strengthening effect in your physiology, your mind and your soul"  -Gaby Maass, Senior Yoga Teacher & Trainer.

"When practicing yoga asana less is more; yet, it is about looking deeper, wider into what is arising in the moment" - Gaby Maass

"Asana means "effortless posture" and its physiological and spiritual purpose is releasing chi or energy in the fascial network and deep tissues of the body" - Gaby Maass

Class taught by Gaby Maass. This is a In U Yoga midday yin flow class with a balanced, medium to slow, mindful flow that starts with Yin openings (long holds) targeting the deep tissues of the lower body, and evolves gradually and fluidly into a more active, but slow dynamic sequence that strengthens the musculature of the lower body and encourages mindful mobility and freedom in the upper body. It finishes with a quiet practice and a relaxation. This class is suitable for students with any degree of experience that are looking to delve deeply into the true purpose of yoga asana practice.

"I guide every participant to find their own yoga, the yoga that works for their own variable anatomy and then we bathe in bliss together as we flow through the smooth sequences" Gaby

All classes are suitable for beginners and experienced yogis alike and are great for dancers, climbers and athletes to strengthen and increase the mobility of the whole musculoskeletal system.

Advice and guidance

When practicing Yoga asana (postures), let go of the competitive mind set. Yoga asana is not just a work-out, it is not just techniques for relaxation, and it is not cross-training. It is a wholistic wellbeing practice that makes the body stronger, more flexible, and generally much healthier. The purpose is energise and balance the body, calm the mind and nervous system, open the heart, and stimulate our spiritual evolution.

“Asana practice serves two purposes, it develops awareness of chi movement in the physical dimension and prepares the body for sitting comfortably in meditation. Yin yoga is the relaxed practice of floor postures for three to five minutes at a time, it emphasises the connective tissues of the hips, thighs, pelvis and lower spine. By drawing awareness away from the muscles and deeper into the bones, a deep level of relaxed focus is achieved. Yang yoga is the rhythmic, flowing repetition of movements that require strength and balance. A Yang practice emphasises the muscle tissues and circulatory system. Yang yoga leaves one feeling invigorated and alert” -Paul Grilley, Yin Yoga Trainer

Student Feedback

“I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to come to yoga classes with Gaby 3 or 4 times a week over the last two months, instead of just once a week. The benefits of practicing yoga more regularly soon became apparent with improved breathing and posture as well as increased strength and flexibility. Less obvious but equally important to me, having had bouts of depression since my mum died, are the psychological effects. I feel more optimistic, less stressed and prepared to face life’s ups and downs. It is most definitely worth investing this time in your self”

C. Shuttleworth, Windermere, UK

“I’m especially grateful to Gabriela for having worked with me to help me reduce the severe scoliosis that I have had for 40 years and I believed that would only get worse.”

Dr. Jane Mathiesen, UK

"I really enjoyed your class and learnt more with you in 2 hours, than I have in twenty years with half a dozen different teachers! I particularly enjoyed the pace and your deep appreciation for the sacred."

R. Whiting, Windermere, UK
